Plaid tanks roll: China, France, Turkey fall

in
Attention, citizens of China, France and Turkey. You are doomed. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you may officially kiss your collective butts goodbye, because INFECTED will soon be published in your countries. You are now doomed to suffer the fate destined for billions -- subjugation at the hands of Siglerism.

Sigler Love Letters:

  • Dear China: And you thought communism was strict? Puh-leeze! The publisher Yilin Magazine will ensure the world's largest country now falls to the plaid tanks. To be published in Chinese simplified characters.
  • Dear Turkey: Totalitarianism is fun! Just ask the publisher E Yayinlari, who is kicking out INFECTED in Turkish!
  • Dear France: Thanks to publisher Editions Bragelonee, your Napoleonic ways come back to bite you in the baugette as General Siglerisimo rolls across the countryside ...
In all seriousness, I'm thrilled to be published in each of these countries, and I'm looking forward to strong relationships with the respective publishers. What a thrill!

Sigler signs proliferation deal with Russia, Putin "so happy I could giggle."

Russian leader Vladimir Putin congratulates aspiring world dictator Scott Sigler after AST Publishing bought the rights to publish the horror novel INFECTED in Russian.Russian leader Vladimir Putin congratulates aspiring world dictator Scott Sigler after AST Publishing bought the rights to publish the horror novel INFECTED in Russian.MOSCOW (AP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin today announced his support of the Russian-language publication of author Scott Sigler's novel, INFECTED.

"I like people that aspire to rule the world," Putin said. "That kind of can-do attitude takes real chutzpah."

Crown Publishing sold the Russian language rights to AST Publishing. The official publication date has not yet been set.

Sigler has made no effort to hide the controversial fact that he counts Putin, Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and North Korean prime minister Kim Jong Ill as his world-domination mentors. Sigler commonly refers to these world leaders as his "Three Amigos of Domination."

Sigler could not be reached for comment. No one has heard from him in two weeks. He is rumored to be holed up in a remote area of the Andes, recording the audiobook for INFECTED.

Sprechen Sie EARTHCORE?

German EARTHCORE coverGerman EARTHCORE coverFun stuff here, Junkies. Looks like ze German print version of EARTHCORE will be out in June, 2008, and in hardcover! I'm fired up. No, I don't know German, but I'm still fired up.

German publisher Otherworld Verlag snatched up EARTHCORE in January 2007. There was a lot of interest for other languages, and for translations of ANCESTOR, but the Death Star known as "Crown Publishing" swept in and destroyed all foreign sorties before we could close any more deals. Crown wants to dish out the forieign rights for everything, starting with a big focus on INFECTED (yeah, German rights for that puppy are already a done deal).

Interesting decision to sort of change the cover, instead of using the magical graphics of Kevin Capizzi. This is the world of "normal" publishing, which is to say I have never spoken a word to Verlag. They've made all the decisions and seem to be rolling along.

What? You speak German? Well hell, Junkie, CLICK HERE to go get yours.

The Junkies' choice:INFECTED

Junkie Poll III

The Damn Dirty Junkies have spoken. We needed a new title for INFECTION, and of the names posted in the above graphic, Junkies choose INFECTED as the new name. I, your humble servant (me, humble, now THAT is a laugh ...) am following your wise contributions. You guys had some AMAZING name suggestions, many of which I've filed away for future novels. So in ten years, when I have taken over the world, if you see your title on a Sigler novel (assuming, of course, you haven't been cleansed by one of my takeover pogroms), you can throw me an email. Beers are on me. Seriously, Junkies, we had 627 votes in less than 38 hours. Thank you for the fast response. If you're behind the times on this story, I left the original post and call the comments in place. Just click "more" to read all about it.

Junkies vs. Lupus

Junkies vs. Lupus

Okay, Junkies, we don't bang on the charity drum very often (this is the first time), but when Hardcore Junkie Brian Thomas contacted me asking for some fundraising help, it was a no-brainer. Brian is running some ungodly marathon-thingee to raise money for Lupus research. He asked me to sponsor his effort, so the great folks at Shirts By Mail hooked us up with a custom silk-screened Junkies vs. Lupus shirt. Click on the movie link above to see the shirt, and to be tricked into hearing Brian's pitch for support. That's right, we trick you - don't tell me you're surprised. Donate if you like, if you don't just check out the sweet one-off shirt. -Scott-

Killer book videos!

Junkies, check it out. A book trailer for ANCESTOR, and one for David Wellington's 13 BULLETS. I have to admit, I think David kicked my ass on this one ... but now I know what I need to do for INFESTED trailers to raise the bar even higher. You want a piece o' me, Wellington? Well bring it on! (just please leave that dude from your video at home, he freaks me out). Click on both to take look.

By Borys Kit

Rogue Pictures and Random House Films have picked up the rights to Scott Sigler's upcoming thriller novel "Infested" and its untitled sequel.

"Infested," due to be published next spring, was picked up by Random House imprint Crown Publishers in a world-rights multibook deal.

The book follows a CIA black ops specialist and a Center for Disease Control scientist who team to contain a rapidly spreading parasite whose bite turns ordinary people into crazed serial killers. The trail of corpses leads to an infected man who is fighting a bloody battle for control of his own mind and body.

INFECTION, the movie!

Rogue Logo

That's right, Junkies - INFECTION has been optioned for a movie by Rogue Pictures, the same sweet cats that made SHAWN OF THE DEAD (although now it's known as INFESTED, the same title it will have when it comes out in hardcover in June, 2008). Now this doesn't mean it's going to be a movie for sure, they just bought the right to make it into a movie. Still, fuckin' good times! Click on the sexy Rogue Pictures logo to read more.

Video interview with Amy Mac

AmyMacI found some video from an interview I did with Amy Mac about six months back, when Podshow launched the new version of their player. It's meaningless, you've all heard my drivel before, so watch it only if you're totally freaking bored and you want to see the Human Cadaver wave his hands around far too much.
